The Maidens by Alex Michaelides

This book is murder and greek myths put together in Cambridge at the university. Mariana, a group psychotherapist goes to the aid of her niece who is also a student at Cambridge. Mariana’s husband died a year ago and this is the place where the met so it is not easy for her to return.

However, she starts to investigate the murders and gets pulled in only to be the one who has things revealed rather than doing the revealing. As ever, for little girls, it starts with her father and what she thought was love for him. This affects her relationships and goes to the very heart of her marriage.

The book is well-plotted, plenty of other seeming villains to accuse and although I did guess the ending, it was well-concealed for much of the book.
