The Wrong Woman by J. P. Pomare

Reid, a Private Investigator, takes on a job back in his home town where he promised he would never return when he left. However, the money for the job is too good to turn down and so he goes. An insurance company want information before paying out a large sum of money for a dead husband.

If only things were that simple. As soon as Reid starts to investigate questions are raised and suspicions are whispered.

The story moves backwards and forwards between two characters, Reid and Eshana who survived the car crash when her husband was killed. The style of writing and short chapters means that this is a pacy read supported by the twists ans turns in the story. I have to admit to reading it in one session.

I did work out whdunnit – sort of – because by the time I got to that point in the book, I had suspected everyone. The information is revealed slowly.

A great holiday read.
